There are Alternatives:
Complementary and Alternative Health Resources
Many people looking for a way to get a fresh start in a new year try to change their lifestyle. A nutritional diet, exercise, and finding ways to reduce stress are very common ways that people pursue a healthy way of living.
The search for a different way of living also leads people to consider alternatives to conventional medicines and therapies to treat, or prevent health ailments.
The OPL has enhanced its consumer health collection, online and on the shelves, by adding many titles in the complementary and alternative health area.
Thanks to a generous gift from an anonymous donor and matching funds from the Friends of the Ottawa Public Library and the Ottawa Public Library Foundation, the OPL now has the best collection of complementary and alternative health information in eastern Ontario.
Some of the titles available:
Eat-Taste-Heal: An Ayurvedic cookbook for modern living
Fundamentals of Complementary and Integrative Medicine
Culture of Emotions: a cultural competence and diversity training program (DVD)
Fibromyalgia and other central pain syndromes
