2016 was a year of innovation and accomplishment for the Ottawa Public Library. This annual report offers an overview, detailing our key achievements of the past year as well as outlining the progress we have made on long-term endeavours.
The year saw the OPL’s current services improved and streamlined – with new and better tools – while community needs led to the addition of new services. Much of the OPL’s resources for 2016 went into the development of better virtual spaces, improvements to current facilities, and the continuing progress of the Ottawa Central Library project. The year unfolded as a long list of innovative successes that contributed to extending the Library’s reach and influence, while fostering community partnerships and satisfying our customers’ appetites for learning, creativity, and connection.
