CBC’s Adrian Harewood hosts a conversation with Celina Caesar-Chavannes about her recently published Can You Hear Me Now? 

Both memoir and leadership book, Can You Hear Me Now? is a funny, self-aware, poignant, confessional and fierce look at how failing badly and screwing things up completely are truly more powerful lessons in how to conduct a life than extraordinary success. Caesar-Chavannes was the first Black person elected to represent the federal riding of Whitby, Ontario.

Kehinde Andrews The New Age of Empire

On the launch of his new book The New Age of Empire: How Racism and Colonialism Still Rule the World, Kehinde Andrews talks with CBC's Adrian Harewood. 

This book is a damning exploration of the many ways in which the effects and logic of anti-black colonialism continue to inform our modern world.  Andrews takes the reader from genocide to slavery to colonialism, deftly explaining the histories of these phenomena, how their justifications are linked, and how they continue to shape our world to this day.
