Temporary closure: Alta Vista


Due to upgrades to the front entrance, the Alta Vista branch will be closed from July 26 to August 17. There will be no returns or holds pick-up during that time. Alta Vista branch will reopen August 18 at 10 am.

Browsing, public computers, newspapers and magazines are available inside most of our 31 open branches, with capacity limits for two-metre distancing. Up to 200 items can also be put on hold.

Eric Carle – Death of the beloved children’s author and illustrator

Eric Carle, author and illustrator of the ever popular picture book "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" has died at age 91.

His Twitter account has acknowledged that the well-known children's writer and artist died back on Sunday, May 23rd.

Eric Carle illustrated more than 70 books, most of which he also wrote. His most beloved title "The Very Hungry Caterpillar", written in 1969, has been translated in 66 languages and has sold more than 50 millions copies around the world since its publication.
