Your OPL Digital Book Club Picks for September

Aug 28, 2020

"...and all at once, summer collapsed into fall" -- Oscar Wilde

Let’s not let that happen, shall we?  September’s “Always Available” book club pics are going to extend those beautiful summer days right on into October—after all, it’s summer until at least September 22nd, right?

This month prolong your summer by streaming and discussing a fab beach read by Lisa Beazley: Keep Me Posted, about two sisters who experience the surprising highs and cringe-worthy lows of social media fame when their most private thoughts become incredibly public in this fresh and funny debut novel.  Or maybe try Objects of My Affection by Jill Smolinski.  Lucy Bloom has lost it all, but she is determined to start over -- so when she’s offered a high-paying gig helping clear the clutter from the home of reclusive and eccentric painter Marva Meier Rios, Lucy grabs it.  The two form an unlikely bond, as each learns from the other that there are those things in life we keep and those we need to let go.

Both titles are available to stream from the AudioBookCloudon your computer or download the AudioBookCloud app to your device to listen from there.

If you’d rather read than listen, Edith Wharton’s The Glimpses of the Moonis a funny Jazz-age story of two attractive, impoverished young people who devise a plan to marry and spend a year honeymooning in the homes of their wealthy friends—in hopes that they’ll each find a wealthier spouse! Of course, love may get in the way…This is a great read for fans of The Great Gatsby.

Keep those summer vibes going with OPLs “Always Available” titles this September – happy book clubbing!
