Introduction to Puppetry with a Company of Fools

Teen Staycation

Interested in learning more about theatre? Whether you just want to get your feet wet or are thinking about going to theatre school, these workshops have something for everyone!

In the first installment of our workshop series participants will become acquainted with the world of puppetry. First, we will make our own puppets using a few everyday objects you can find around your home. Then we will embark on a series of simple exercises to discover how your puppet moves, thinks, sounds, and interacts with the world. Participants will leave having learned the fundamentals of puppetry and with a new friend!

Each session will conclude with a brief interview/Q&A with an actor who you may recognize from Ottawa’s professional stages!

For ages 13-18. Registrants will receive an additional email with the Zoom link ahead of the program.

Required material: a scrap piece of fabric (old t-shirt, t-towel, bandana, etc.) and some rubber bands or paperclips.
