The Cardboard Kingdom is a graphic novel about kids, creativity, and cardboard! Join 16 ordinary kids as they encounter knights and rogues, robots and monsters on a grand creative adventure and transform ordinary boxes into colorful costumes, and their city block into their very own Cardboard Kingdom.

This fall, Ottawa Public Library is partnering with the United States Embassy to bring unlimited access to the eBook version of the book from November 16 to December 18. For the best reading experience, we suggest that you use a device whose screen at least the size of a normal book page.

The graphic novel is ideal for school-aged children in grades 4-6.

Ask the authors and illustrators a question!

In December, some of the authors and illustrators who worked on the graphic novel with lead creator Chad Sell will be available during a live panel event to answer your questions and talk about The Cardboard Kingdom.  Send your question to programs@bilbioottawalibrary.ca, and attend the panel event to hear it answered live.

About the book

Chad Sell created the title in collaboration with 10 other authors and illustrators. The Cardboard Kingdom was nominated for an Eisner Award and received starred reviews from professional publications such as Kirkus Review, School Library Journal, Booklist and Publisher's Weekly.
