Together We Read Ontario - Coming Up for Air

Oct 16, 2020

October is Canadian Public Library Month! During this month libraries across Canada raise awareness of the valuable role libraries play in Canadians’ lives. In celebration of Public Library Month, libraries across Ontario are joining together to provide unlimited access to the eBook Coming Up for Air by Sarah Leipciger—with no waitlists and no holds.

A young Parisian woman of the 19th century, a 1950s Norwegian toymaker, a child with Cystic Fibrosis growing up in the Ottawa Valley in the 1980s: these are the disparate threads that Sarah Leipciger pulls together in Coming Up for Air. These fascinating lives, fiction with some basis in historical fact, are tied by themes of water—swimming, drowning and living by bodies of water—and an astonishing connection across space and time.

Together We Read Ontario will run from October 19 to November 1. To join us, all you have to do is visit our Overdrive site or your Overdrive or Libby apps to download the eBook or eAudiobook for free. If you’d like to let us know what you think, you can use the hashtags #TWROntario and #OPLW to share your thoughts on social media.

Together We Read is a collaboration between several Ontario libraries to provide special access to eBooks, for the purpose of connecting readers with the same eBook at the same time. We are grateful for our partner, SOLS (Southern Ontario Library Service), for providing unlimited access to this eBook for all Ontarians.
